Dr. Ajantha Atukorale received his B.Sc. Degree with first class honors in Computer Science from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1995. He started his career as a lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Colombo. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2002 from the University of Queensland, Australia in the field of Neural Pattern Recognition.

Currently, Dr. Atukorale is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) and conduct lectures for undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.

His research interests include Neural Networks, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, Computer Networks and Virtualization. He is a member of the IEEE and a member of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) from 2006. He is a council member of the CSSL from 2014 and holds the positions of Student Counsellor and Treasurer.
